ABOUT THE MINILOAF

Welcome to THE MINILOAF — a small family bakery from York, built from a love of baking, a shared dream and the hope of creating something that can become part of our family’s story for generations to come.

WHERE IT ALL STARTED

The Mini Loaf started with something very simple: a love for baking banana bread.

What began with making banana bread grew into a much bigger idea. We fell in love with creating something from simple ingredients and turning it into something people could enjoy, share and remember.

But The Mini Loaf was never meant to be just another bakery.

It was the beginning of our family bakery.

My husband and I are in our 30s, and together we have a beautiful daughter. We have always shared the dream of one day having a bakery of our own! something we could build together as a family and eventually pass on as part of our family’s legacy.

The Mini Loaf is where that dream begins.

BUILDING OUR DREAM, ONE BAKE AT A TIME

Right now, our family life is a balance of work, parenthood and building a business.

I currently work full-time as a care assistant, while continuing to build The Mini Loaf alongside my work. My husband is also working hard, and one of our biggest dreams is to reach a point where he no longer has to work two jobs and can dedicate his time to building our family bakery with me.

So we’ve given ourselves something very simple:

One year to build, learn, grow and see what The Mini Loaf can become.

It’s not about pretending that the dream will happen overnight. It’s about giving ourselves the courage to start.

Every order, every market, every new product and every customer is another step towards the future we’re trying to create for our family.

FROM BANANA BREAD TO SOMETHING BIGGER

Banana bread was our beginning, but it didn’t stay there.

Today, The Mini Loaf brings together our love for homemade sweet treats — from our signature banana breads to cinnamon rolls, puff doughs, Cookies and celebration bakes.

We make our treats in small batches from our home in York, with care, creativity and the belief that something homemade can make an ordinary moment feel a little more special.

OUR FAMILY LEGACY

We dream of a future where The Mini Loaf grows beyond what it is today.

A future where our daughter can look back and say:

“This is what my parents built.”

A future where our family can work together, create together and continue something that started with a simple love for baking banana bread.

We don’t know exactly where this journey will take us yet.

But we know where it started.

Right here.
